Dr. Rabanus was born in Neumünster, Germany. He completed
his dental training as best in his class (class valedictorian)
of 160 students. He also received highest honors (summa-cum-laude)
for his thesis. In fact, he was only the third individual
to have received a summa-cum-laude for a doctor's thesis
since the existence of the faculty. The topic of his
thesis was on the subject of Oral Biology. He completed
2 years of Medical School and took the first Medical
Board at the University of Homburg in Germany.
Dr. Rabanus received a National Award for his thesis
and obtained a scholarship by the German Research Council
for a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship in the field of
Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology at the University of
California in San Francisco. He then completed at the
same university a one-year residency of Advanced Education
in General Dentistry, where he received training in
advanced concepts of dentistry. Dr. Rabanus has given
presentations at national and international meetings
and has written numerous publications.
Dr. Rabanus is certified by the American
Board of Oral Medicine and is accredited* by the
American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
(*: Only 250 dentists in the United
States have qualified for accredited member status in
the prestigious American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
It is the largest international organization specifically
dedicated to the art and science of cosmetic dentistry.)
Physicians and other professionals selected Dr. Rabanus
as one of Silicon Valleyıs top doctors in a survey of
the San Jose Magazine for 3 years in a row.
He was selected among "America's Top Doctors" in 2003 and 2004.
Dr. Rabanus sees patients by appointment only in select
locations of the San Francisco Bay Area. His
goal is to spend more time in teaching other dentists
worldwide about the discipline of Cosmetic Dentistry.
