Dr. Jörg-Peter Rabanus is currently San Francisco's only AACD-accredited cosmetic dentist. He has been teaching cosmetic dentistry and smile design for many years. He believes that it is not enough to deliver to his patients the best dentistry possible, but also to help other cosmetic dentists to attain that same level of expertise.
Dr. Rabanus enjoys to teach and to make a difference on a more expanded social and geographic radius. He has threrefore given lectures at universities, international dental meetings, and has visited various countries to teach and inspire dentists and dental students who are interested to learn more about the science of smile design, porcelain veneers, full-mouth reconstruction, and much more.
Cosmetic dentistry is an exciting field. This field of dentistry offers the cosmetic dentist ample opportunity to make a difference in a person's life. This is a high responsibility, but also the most rewarding challenge. Dr. Rabanus wants to help other dental professionals to always remember the big picture, which is that we are experts in a field that can help someone to be more confident, to be happier, and to me more successful. Every member of our society has responsibilities and assumes functions that contribute to our communities. Everybody is important. And everybody should be proud to be able to serve the public. The same is true for cosmetic dentists, who should be proud to have the opportunity to have such a positive impact in people's lives. The better the quality we strive for with every of our products, the more fulfilled we are.
Teaching is not about "showing off" something we have achieved. It is the willingness to share one's experiences in a positive way, to inspire, to rekindle passions that once existed when an endeavor was started. It is as much communication as it is an acknowledgement of anyone who is willing to listen and who is striving to learn from each other.
